VARANASI: The wife of Lance Naik Rajesh Kumar Yadav, martyred in the Uri terror attack last month, has given birth to a daughter. Born on October 1, this is their third child and the family has named her Bharti.
Rajesh was among the 20 soldiers who were killed when terrorists attacked an Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri. He is survived by his wife Parvati Devi and two daughters - Preeti and Priyanka.
Rajesh was the sole bread earner of the family, his death has left a huge void and his mother is worried.
"Rajesh used the bear all the expenses, his father died in 2006 leaving behind Rajesh, his three brothers and five sisters. He got his fifth sister married," Rajesh's mother Simariya Devi said in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh.

But the setback has failed to deter patriotic feelings of the family. His brothers Rakesh and Vikesh have appealed to the countrymen to boycott Chinese goods on Diwali if they want to pay true homage to the bravehearts. They are ready to join the Army to serve the nation. "We are proud of our brother who died in the line of duty. We also want to serve the country," they said.
Rajesh joined the Army 18 years ago; his 6 Bihar regiment was recently moved to Uri.

The attackers from Pakistan-based terror groupLashkar-e-Taiba sprayed bullets and lobbed grenades. The Armymen retaliated and the gunbattle lasted six hours after which the terrorists were neutralised.
This was one of the deadliest terrorist strikes on security forces in recent times.
