Shining Bird and Bangarra dancer join forces in evocative I Can Run video – premiere

The Australian band Shining Bird have joined forces with a Bangarra senior dancer, Waangenga Blanco, and his partner, Caroline Sundt-Wels – the creative director at Desert Designs – for an evocative film clip for their single, I Can Run. Blanco ‘transformed the meaning of the song into something deeper and more profound’, according to the band’s lead singer, Dane Taylor. ‘Somehow it felt like it was written for him to perform.’ Blanco’s choreography seeks to tell the story of the fight to maintain Indigenous knowledge and wisdom in contemporary Australia
