Mary & Fleance Fernandes House Fire

Today, October 24, 2016, my sister Mary Fernandes, her husband Fleance, and their young son Justin got devastating news while vacationing in the Bahamas. They have long awaited this trip for some rest and relaxation from their busy lives in New York City and were floored when they received news from a neighbor back in the Bronx that their home was on fire. The fire marshal has confirmed with them that the entire home has completely burned - both the second floor, where they resided, and the first floor, where Fleance's parents reside, and apparently the basement as well. They are going to be returning to New York City to no home whatsoever... and they have lost all of their belongings, from clothes, furniture, precious mementos - pretty much everything that makes a house a home.
We are extremely grateful for the fact that they were not at home and that they are okay - but we know that there will be a need for them financially... I have created this fundraiser so we can assist them in purchasing new clothes, furniture and anything that my nephew Justin might need. Justin is on the autism spectrum and will certainly not understand fully what has happened, so I want to help make this as easy a transition for all of them as possible. Right now, my sister and her wonderful husband are in shock - and they are still vacationing and not quite sure what to do. I feel like if we all chip in just a little bit, we can help get them started on a path to not only replacing the material possessions, but in finding a new home once they return to NYC.
My sister means the world to me, as does my brother in law and my nephew. They are quite possibly the kindest and most good-hearted people you will ever meet. I know they would be the first to jump to action to help someone else in need - so if you have anything to give, I know it will be so greatly appreciated. Of course if you have nothing to give monetarily, we just ask for your prayers!! I think that has reinstated all of our faith in a higher power - GOD - that they weren't home when this tragedy struck.
