Sexual Wellness Center

Donation protected
Sexual repression is a threat to everyone. Utah spends $5 billion a year on rehabilitating offenders of sex related crimes with little results.

It's time to have healthy conversations about sexual wellness.  Utah is an abstinece only state which studies have shown, lead to higher sex related crime rates. If we aren't going to teach healthy sexuality through traditional education, then let's teach it through art.

Dr. Ted McIlvenna, President of the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality and Executive Director of the American College of Sexologists has been building a collection of erotic art since the 1960's He has amassed an array of work valued at approximately $28 million, including famous pieces from Picasso and John Lennon. He aspires to use this collection as a tool for promoting conversations about healthy sexuality.

As part of this project, we have coupled his art with a soon to be released wellness device which uses new technology to enhance women's sexual wellness. After 7 years of development, the device called the hi®  is going to change future of intimacy and sexuality for men and women.

This is just the first phase, Dr. McIlvenna would like the collection to be a focal point of a sexual wellness center. This will be a center where we will provide information and classes on healthy sexuality issues.

Where do I come in? I have been in sexuality work for a number of years and came across an article about the hi® almost 2 years ago. I immediately saw enormous benefits for the women with whom I work in my practice. I reached out to the inventor, Dr. Steve McGough, to find out how to get a unit. Low and behold, it wasn't even on the market yet. I have been working with Dr. McGough ever since to get it to market. I am the only certified hi® Instructor in Utah and one of only a handful in the world. In fact, I am the first instructor to actually have a prototype of the hi® unit.

I have been working with these two amazing gentlemen and several other wonderful people to find innovative ways that will most effectively and positively impact intimacy and sexual health for women and couples in Utah and beyond. We will be bringing the art collection to Utah in conjunction with the release of the hi®. This program will include conversations and education about intimacy and sexual health. While it's hard to know the full impact for the future, there is no doubt that this will change the face of sexuality, intimacy, health and crime in Utah.

The funds raised will allow us to bring the art to Utah and secure an exhibit location. The remaining funds will allow for investments in marketing, training, educational materials, insurance, staff and volunteers. The center will be a nonprofit institute, so we have to incorporate and become a 501(c)(3) in order to do greater fundraising efforts. But this is only the beginning. From this starting point, we plan to use our successful introduction to becoming a permanent part of this community. It is actually a very small amount to get started, because we believe we will be able to get a space donated at least temporarily.

For me personally, the work of sexuality found me. I didn't seek it out. I know now what it means to have a calling and this is mine. Those who know me personally, know that I am very passionate about my work promoting sexual health for everyone. Even more personally, it will have a profound effect on my family. Over the last few years, we have faced many challenges such as violent crime, health issues, bringing a boy from a mother who was a drug abuser into our home and homelessness. We have always continued to work hard and keep smiles on our faces. This is a catalyst to help our family get on firm ground and build a fabulous future, not just for us, but for our community. Such a project will bring with it a profound and promising ripple effect that will engender healthy dialogue for everyone involved.

I want to thank you in advance for your support. Knowing how this project and my work will impact so many people means the world to me, my team and my family.
