Tadhg Beirne's four senior Leinster appearances have come against Welsh teams
Scarlets have signed 24-year-old lock Tadhg Beirne from Leinster ahead of the 2016-17 season.
Beirne has made four senior Leinster appearances and has played for Ireland Under-20 and Ireland Sevens.
Scarlets general manager of rugby Jon Daniels said: "He has made a brave move to leave Ireland to pursue a new challenge and further his rugby career.
"But he's an intelligent well rounded young man who I'm sure will thrive in our environment."
Beirne said: "I'm excited by the ambition and am really looking forward to getting pre-season underway."
