Chautauqua talk focuses on "Spanish Texas"

Spanish influence on the state of Texas will be the topic of a program Dec. 10 at the Buffalo Gap Historic Village.
“Spanish Texas: Legend and Legacy” is the title of an exhibit at The Grace Museum and also is the title of the monthly Chautauqua Learning Series at the Buffalo Gap Historic Village. The program will be presented 11 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Rode Gallery of the historic village. Admission is free.
Speakers will be Rebecca Bridges and Erika Parker of The Grace. Bridges is in charge of programming and interpretation. Parker is the collections manager.
The exhibit, which opened Sept. 24, runs through March 11, 2017, at The Grace. The exhibit presents an overview of the history and legacy of Spanish culture in the state through original art, artifacts and maps from the 16th through the 20th centuries, according to museum publicity.
