Dear SDA Friends,

As an Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's? Team Captain, the end of Alzheimer's starts with me - but I can't take on this disease alone. Will you join me in the fight by walking with me and team Memoria Tenere? As a team, we can be an unstoppable force against the nation's

sixth-leading cause of death.

Registration is easy; simply visit my Walk to End Alzheimer's participant page and join my team.

If you're unable to participate, please consider making a $35 donation to my fundraising campaign. Every dollar advances the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.

Our culture, our community, our sense of place-these are all tied inextricably to the land. Upstate Forever's Land Trust Program seeks to protect these incredible special places that contribute to the culture and sense of place of our communities. 98 properties totaling 19,382.85 acres are now protected, and we will very soon be hitting the 100 mark! Upstate Forever's vision for the Upstate is to be an environmentally and economically prosperous region, with a high quality of life for all. Slow Food Upstate envisions a future food system that is based on the principles of high quality and taste, environmental sustainability, and social justice-in essence, a food system that is good, clean and fair. We seek to catalyze a broad cultural shift away from the destructive effects of an industrial food system and fast life; toward the regenerative cultural, social and economic benefits of a sustainable food system, regional food traditions, the pleasures of the table and a slower and more harmonious rhythm of life.

Local farms play an enormous role in our quality of life but also have a responsibility to the environment-earth, air and water. Slow Food Upstate works toward clean agriculture by supporting producers who farm with sustainable methods, therefore, it is a natural collaboration to work together for good with the Upstate Forever Land Trust program. Abundantly sponsored by Whole Foods Market in Greenville, Anson Mills in Columbia and Slow Food Upstate, enjoy a delicious meal from local farms to benefit the Upstate Forever Land Trust Program.
