CONCORD — Following a dramatic renovation of its dining options, Concord’s Sunvalley Shopping Center on Friday will unveil its latest addition: a 52,000-square-foot entertainment center.

Round 1, a Japanese chain of family-oriented entertainment complexes, has taken over the former Sports Authority site on the lower level of the mall near JC Penney.

The center will open at 12 p.m. Round 1’s centers offer billiards, karaoke, darts, bowling and arcade games, including many from Japan that aren’t available elsewhere in the United States, the company told Bay Area News Group in January.

Round 1 also serves food, including pizza, burgers, soft drinks, beer and wine.

The opening of the center follows the completion of Sunvalley’s new food court in May. Restaurants there include Charley’s Philly Steaks, Cilantro, Chicken Connection, Pizza Studio, Suki Hana and Yeung’s Lotus Express. The most recent additions include Dojo Ramen Bar, a fast casual eatery that makes ramen noodle bars, and the first East Bay location of Davids Tea, which offers 150 types of gourmet teas.
