In 2006, I was asked my opinion about the idea of creating a platform for Palliative Care professionals to share knowledge, help each other, with free access and transcending borders.

It clearly made sense.  How can we hope for a better world, where people have adequate care for their suffering, if we keep knowledge and resources to ourselves?

As I birthed and watched my child grow, I also observed the evolution of Palliative Care Network from its beginnings with a simple directory to PCN hosting an online conference.

I met individuals who benefited from PCN and witnessed the impact on their community.  I specifically recall a physician from Iran, where there are limits on the use of morphine, whose practice of palliative care changed after she viewed a poster teaching about the use of ketamine.

I hope that more and more people become aware of Palliative Care Network, participate and contribute  for better palliative care in the world.
