Brand New Website!
In my last newsletter, I talked about the overhaul of my website. Finally, a couple of years later, it's DONE! I researched and studied for years and almost by accident came across a great platform for my art website. Art Storefronts is the platform I am using and I cannot say enough good about this American company. They are based in Austin, TX and their tech support is superior to ALL. They have a really awesome education system and walk you through the entire process. I'm sure the support guys knew my name well by the time the month it took me to launch was over. They were always friendly and beyond helpful. I would highly recommend them to any artist looking for a new website platform. Literally, everything I researched about art websites, they do it. Not only do they support you while you are building your website, but they have continued support once you've launched.
That all said, this is supposed to be about my NEW website! Everything is much easier to navigate now and I no longer have my website linked to my Etsy shop. In fact, I've closed my Etsy shop altogether. This new website has it's very own online store. I am making prints available again as they have print on demand services as well. You can now order my artwork in print form on paper or canvas and of course there are still original paintings available.

I was recently invited to participate in the Summer show at the New Mexico Cancer Center Gallery! This is very exciting for me as I have wanted to get into this gallery for years. I first submitted my portfolio back in 2010 or so. The name of the show is "Artists on the Rise"! If you are local, I hope you will come out for the Opening Reception on June 18th.

I am a supporter of the Sierra Club and while recently reading their monthly enews, I noticed they had a First Friday Art Show. They listed a contact person and so I contacted them. After a game of phone tag, I was scheduled to show my art! Please join me for the First Friday reception on August 4th.

I never know where inspiration will come from. Whether or not it strikes, I paint. Sometimes inspiration comes in the middle of a painting. This time it came from a comment on facebook. One of my collectors commented on a progress photo of the beginning of a painting (painting above). Read more...
Mural Projects
I recently started on two mural projects here in Albuquerque. One is at a local High School and the other is a private residence. I have visited both sites and taken photos of the walls where the murals will be painted. I'm currently working on sketches of mural designs for both locations.
The High School mural came about because I have an artist friend who is an art teacher there. She is working on an idea for a space at the school where the large population of refugee and immigrant kids can feel safe. A Sanctuary within the school grounds. The mural will be created with this in mind. Art students will help with the painting of the design too. It's going to be a fun project! I recently visited and saw a couple of the walls that the mural could go on. I took photos of all the walls and spoke with one of the assistant Principals about the project. My next step is to deliver sketches of my design ideas for approval by the Administration. Fingers crossed they like my ideas!
The private residence mural is at the home of another local friend and art collector. The mural will be on the outside wall in the back yard/patio area. I'm really looking forward to this one as I have free reign to design what I want here. I will still have the design approved but I have been told I can do whatever I want. :)

My current work in progress. This painting is very similar to the "Moon" painting above, only larger! One of my collectors saw the first one and had to have it larger to go with the other paintings she has purchased from me. Is there a painting of mine you would like to have larger? Let me know, I'm always happy to make a larger piece from another previous painting/design.
