A little history...
There is a great story behind the small copper stills at Tom's Foolery: they are the first pot stills built for an American whiskey distillery following Prohibition. The stills were built in 1976 to recreate an authentic 1800's-style pot-distilled bourbon. This little distillery, known at the time as the Michter's Jug House, was America's first micro-distillery.

"Inspired by four generations of distilling traditions in the Middle West family, the small enterprise built its foundation on the belief that authenticity in the world of artisan spirits meant handcrafting products from scratch, while celebrating the distinctive flavors of the Ohio River Valley".

"The demand for their beer has been so high that they recently underwent a brewery expansion that has taken them from being one the smallest breweries in Columbus to being one of the largest". -North High Brewing Company

Did you ever want to WOW your guests with your secret passion, this class is for you!

"In 1919, the 18th Amendment was passed, clearing the way for 13 years of the folly that was Prohibition. The Noble Experiment lasted from 1920 to 1933. During this time, it was illegal to sell alcohol, so people completely stopped drinking. Yeah, right. They actually drank more than ever, even though the cocktails weren't exactly top notch.
Barkeeps had limited access to good booze, so they used sweeteners and juices to cover up the taste of the rough hooch. A few cocktails from the era survived, having been lovingly restored in the best mixology joints around the country". - Chantal Martineau
Cost is $35 per person. Space is limited to 16, so RSVP now. Questions telephone our Speakeasy Event Coordinator at 216-421-8380
