Three days after a 20-year-old college student's parents found her murdered in her Pittsburgh apartment, the woman's ex-boyfriend was arrested four states away, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
According to WPXI, Alina Sheykhet had filed for a protection from abuse order against 21-year-old Matthew Darby last month. Police in South Carolina arrested Darby shortly before 1am Wednesday after someone called 911 regarding a man "tampering with a window" at a home in Myrtle Beach.
After apprehending Darby, police learned he was wanted on a homicide charge in Pennsylvania. Darby is facing new charges of loitering, resisting arrest, and being a fugitive. There is no word on a timeline for his possible extradition to Pennsylvania, WTAE reports.
