Amir Johnson tossed his mouthpiece. Now he can toss a game check.

The Toronto Raptors forward is suspended without pay for one game for hitting an official with his mouthpiece, the NBA announced Tuesday night. He will miss Wednesday's home game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Johnson made the error in judgment Monday night during a 92-74 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. He had been ejected for holding on to the ball after a free throw in the third quarter.

"He turned his back; I really wanted to know what happened," Johnson said after the game, according to SI.com. "Nothing was said. I lost my cool right there. I never had any problems all the eight years I've been in the league. I never argued with a ref or did anything wrong. From there, I just lost my cool."

Johnson makes $6 million this year, meaning he makes about $73,000 a game. So the fine alone is substantially more severe than the $25,000 one Sacramento Kings point guard Aaron Brooks received for tossing his mouthpiece into the crowd after a November game.
