Dear Friends,

Boulders the size of trucks are now planted next to my house—boulders that just missed my house, thank God. Some were not so lucky. Now, my neighborhood is filled with men in yellow jackets driving large earth-moving machines, completely focused on their task of clearing storm drains, aware that time is running short. Rain is about to return and with it more possible mudslides.

I began this series, 2018 Your Year of Possibility, with a first step: Create a pod of friends that you share your feelings with. Meet weekly. Share your feelings. Be witness to each other. Connection, Soul to Soul, forming deep bonds with another, is the greatest healing there is. Your group will be a lifeline when you need support the most. This is the lesson we are here to learn.

Then last week the second step was How to Find Faith and Trust. Faith and Trust are seeds that must be planted, watered, and nurtured so that when anxiety comes you are prepared with a strong core. You are an oak tree, resilient and strong yet flexible and loving.

The next step to creating Your Year of Possibility is to embrace Rigor as a way of life. Rigor means thoroughness and exhaustiveness, the ability to persevere, the ability to hold one’s self accountable. Rigor is not a word used very often today. However, it is a state of consciousness that must be revisited in order for us to find resilience, remain heart-centered and strong during times of stress.

When you are in the consciousness of rigor, you are choosing a level of excellence. Choosing to be an excellent human being is a path that brings happiness, joy and love, filling all the empty places we hide inside of us. Excellence is not perfection. Excellence is being attached to the core values of who you are and acting on them.

When things are falling apart, when your world as you know it comes undone, your power to bring order, to create order in the middle of chaos is dependent upon the understanding of rigor's energetic sword that literally can move a mountain.
