The award-winning creators behind the locally filmed featurette Lost In Buffalo City are preparing to scare audiences once again with their next film Boy!, which will be produced and filmed locally in Dare, Tyrrell, and Hyde counties.

Boy! follows the story of a man cursed to be the errand runner for an ancient evil spirit. It haunts and tortures his every waking moment until he delivers its latest victim. But is his torment real, or is the true evil all in his head?

Boy! plays on the madness and fears of loneliness and addiction, all set in the picturesque creepiness of rural North Carolina where I grew up.” says Stuart Parks II.

Written by and starring Parks, a prominent actor in Theatre of Dare fan favorites such as Spamalot and One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Boy! will be directed by Raymond Wallace and produced by his Manteo-based Rayolight Productions.

“I think that the experience and success of Lost In Buffalo City proved to us that the Outer Banks is a viable area for filmmaking. We’ve got the talent, the locations, and the stories that audiences are interested in all right here in one place. So I’m thrilled to be creating another project here, and I can’t wait to share this terrifying tale with audiences” says Wallace.

The production is reaching out to the community for help as it readies itself for filming in the coming months. They are currently seeking a male actor between the ages of 13 and 17 for the speaking role of the delinquent victim known as Kid, as well as three to five male actors between the ages of 9 and 11 for several non-speaking victim roles.

The crew is also in search of an American classic sedan with a large trunk, that can be rented or loaned to the production for several weekends.

Actors and interested car owners are encouraged to email Raymond Wallace at [email protected] with their headshots, resumes, photos, and contact information by March 3, 2018. The producers will contact those parties selected for an on camera audition that will be scheduled at a later date.

“We’re excited to create a locally made project,” says Wallace, “and see it as an opportunity to share an entirely different side of the Outer Banks with the world.”
