CNN  —

Hurricane Patricia was the strongest hurricane ever recorded, but it quickly weakened early Saturday, having made landfall at 6:15 p.m. (7:15 p.m. ET) Friday on Mexico’s southwestern coast as a Category 5 storm.

Overnight, not much news emerged from the hardest hit regions, where in some places electricity was turned off to prevent mishaps. As the sun rises and more information comes out, CNN will resume live blogging developments. The blog is currently pausing.
