'Aggressive' Mountain Lion Reported In San Mateo County Backyard

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — San Mateo County officials on Tuesday warned the public of an "aggressive" mountain lion that's been causing issues for a local resident. The latest sighting was at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 5000 block of Pescadero Creek Road.

"The animal is aggressive, and has killed multiple small livestock animals in a resident's backyard," SMC officials said. "The animal approached the back door of the home and was not intimidated by two large pitbulls that confronted it at the time."

Officials said to use caution if you're outside in the Pescadero area, especially late at night or early in the morning.
