The Piccadilly Group, who run the The Union Bank and the Lord Anson, are opening Frida’s Mexican at the rear of the Lord Anson.
Owner Nick Bacon said they wanted to create a space for drinking and dining as well as offering take-away.
They are looking for about 10 wait, bar and kitchen staff.
Mr Bacon said group executive chef and co-owner Hugh Mawter would be in charge of the kitchen.
“Both Hugh and I are huge Mexican fans and we find it hard to find delicious and flavoursome Mexican in the region that isn’t solely take-away or franchised,” he said.
Mr Bacon said they would offer tacos, burritos, quesadillas and bowl options plus a unique drinks list with a margarita menu.
The Borenore Brewing Co. will also run a brewery inside Frida’s Mexican.
Head brewer Marty Oliver will have a range of beers, including a brew with South American flavours.
The restaurant, opposite the Kmart entry, is due to open late March/early April.
MINING NOMINATION
The EMS Group, which opened in Orange this year, was a finalist in the 2018 NSW Mining Industry and Supplier Awards’ outstanding supplier category.
Established in Dubbo in 2010 the company opened an office and workshop in Orange to serve mining and major infrastructure projects.
While the company did not win the award, announced last week at Parliament House in Sydney, EMS Group director Tom Cavanagh said the nomination was recognition of the company’s development.
“Thinking outside the box is one way we’re able to achieve such great results for our clients,” he said.

McCarthy’s Pharmacy is to offer two free information sessions for parents.
On Tuesday March 20 from 6.30pm-7.30pm they will host the Reconnecting With Your Teen Evening presented by Katie Wallace from Psychological Solutions to help parents better understand their teenager’s world.
On Thursday March 29 from 10.30am it will run a Mum’s and Bub’s Morning with a variety of health topics at its Lords Place store.
