Outrage continues to grow over comments President Donald Trump denies he made about African countries and Haiti.

While meeting with lawmakers, President Trump rejected a bipartisan proposal on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. Trump questioned why the U.S. should accept more immigrants from Haiti and Africa over places like Norway.

He reportedly asked, according to the Washington Post, "Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?"

Spectrum News visited Inter-Faith Works in Syracuse, an organization that works with immigrants and refugees, and spoke with a member from Zimbabwe who called Trump's comments disturbing.

"I see myself like I'm not part of the community," Gracious Moyo said. "I'm more excluded because the rhetoric itself is racist and at some point, many times, he denied that he is not a racist. Such a statement on its own really reflects the true picture of who he is especially that he is racist. It's an entire truth."

In response, the president tweeted: "The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used. What was really tough was the outlandish proposal made - a big setback for DACA!"
