Neighborhood streets such as Maplemere Drive in Clarksville were still covered in icy slush on Saturday morning.

All Montgomery County roads were back open Saturday morning, but with 171 wrecks Friday through Saturday morning, police urged everyone to stay home.

"There have been no reports of major road closures this morning, but that doesn't mean the roads are totally clear or that it is a good idea to be on the roadway, unless you absolutely have to be," said Jim Knoll, Clarksville Police spokesman.

Road crews were working to clear over 700-plus miles of road in Montgomery County. There were still many dangerous roads, along with abandoned vehicles creating hazards.

From Friday through Saturday at about 5:30 a.m., in Clarksville and Montgomery County, there were 128 motorist assists, 40 wrecks with injuries and 131 non-injury wrecks, Knoll said.

"The numbers don't include the unaccounted for motorist assists by citizens helping each other or unreported fender benders," Knoll said.
