Me (Bethany 14) and my siblings, Joshua (21), Luci (19), Amy (16) and keeley (10) are setting up this page for our mum.
I'm hoping to raise some money to help her complete her bucket list, the only thing on her bucket list. As she has incurable cancer. This page will help us raise some money to help us get her to Harry Potter world in Florida. Realistically it will cost around £8000 to get us all there and make some lasting memories.
So I’m reaching out to everyone and if you have it in your hearts to spare a pound or so that would make me very happy.
In Jan 2017 my mum Claire, was diagnosed with a very rare cancer, Ewing's sacroma.
Ewing's sarcoma is a very rare type of cancer that affects the bones or the soft tissues around bones. Ewing's sarcoma is very rare in adults and is usually found in children and teenagers.
Mum was misdiganosed for around 18 months after many visits to the GPs and hopsital, she had to go through private healthcare to finally get her diagnosis, the scan showed a 10cm by 18cm tumour in her pelvis, which was followed by a very long stay in hospital waiting for a biopsy to confirm to the type of cancer. In which time the tumour had already grown by 2cm and spread to the lungs and shoulder blade. The tumour grew through her nerves and blood vessels. Her leg is damaged and is on regular pain killers and is unable to walk. She is in a wheel chair now.
She then went through 9 months (14 round) of chemotherapy and 30 sessions of radiotherapy, scans have shown that she still has an 8cm toumour, and are waiting scan results to see if it has grown. We have been told that the cancer is uncurable. She’s really scared of passing away. And this is my thing that I want to do for her. She’s had the year from hell. Being in hospital most of last year being away from us. That was torture.
