When did you do it last?
17 November - 15 December, 2017

Do you know your HIV status?
The “AIDS Solidarity Movement” and the “Cy Checkpoint” announce their cooperation with “AHF Europe” (AIDS Healthcare Foundation - Europe), for the HIV & Hepatitis European Testing Week (ETW2017), the World AIDS Day (1st December), and the Volunteers Week (1-8 December).

18 days | 14 locations | 23 cooperations
The HIV Rapid Testing Outreach Activities will be held in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and Deryneia, between 17 November and 15 December. The activities are co-organised with «Positive Voice», the Association of People Living with HIV in Greece, the Greek Checkpoint, Accept LGBT Cyprus, Queer Association Cyprus, the Cyprus Family Planning Association and the Cyprus Authority for Addictions (previously known as the Cyprus AntiDrug Council). This is also the first time that AHF Europe co-organises, supports and sponsors HIV Outreach Activities in Cyprus.

It’s anonymous, it’s rapid and its free. In 10 minutes you will be... done.
The test is anonymous, rapid and free. It just takes 10 minutes for your results to be announced in a safe and discreet environment, while you get to be informed about safer sexual practices. The Cy Checkpoint is a CBVCT Centre (Community Based Voluntary Counselling and Testing Centre), where trained volunteers offer peer-to-peer testing and counselling, from and for the community. The test uses finger blood, and reacts to antibodies of the HIV virus with 99,7% sensitivity, covering all your life, apart from the last 3 months. It's use was decided following the best practices from other checkpoints around Europe.

The HIV & Hepatitis European Testing Week (ETW) has been organised simultaneously in various European countries. The AIDS Solidarity Movement Cyprus participates for the third year in a row. Our 2016 outreach Activities were referred to as “Success Story” by the ETW2017 website*, as well as by the EATG - European AIDS Treatment Group**. The purpose of the ETW is to promote prevention through regular testing, in order to decrease the number of people who get a “late diagnosis” with HIV, and as a result more people will know their HIV status the soonest possible.
