At Vienna Baptist Church, the Christmas season is a time to spend with family and friends. Join our family as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. You can see a complete listing of our Christmas season events as well as our regular schedule of activities on our website.

The Pastors and Staff of Vienna Baptist Church wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Lessons and Carols

During our 11 a.m. Worship on Sunday, December 24, join us for a special Lessons and Carols service, as we are joined by the St. Petersburg Men's Quartet, who will present special music as we hear the Christmas story and sing favorite carols.

Interactive Children's Service

Sunday, December 24
5 p.m.

This special service gives children of all ages a chance to wiggle, giggle, and help us tell the Christmas Story. A special collection will be taken for The Lamb Center, an organization helping the homeless right here in Fairfax County. Bring diapers, formula, and other new, unwrapped, baby supplies to be donated.

Candlelight
Christmas Eve Service

7:15 p.m.

Join us as we celebrate the birth of the Christ Child with music from our Chancel Choir, carols, the Christmas Story, and a special message from Pastor Austin. Please note the new time for this service!

Opportunities and Events at VBC

Children's Discipleship Class

Children grades 3-6 are invited to participate in our discipleship class during worship services from January 21-March 18 (no class on February 18 due to Presidentsí Day weekend). The class will meet in the library after the Childrenís Message. Ginny Richardson, our Pastor for Youth and Children, will lead this special class. In class, we will discuss images of God, believerís baptism, worship order, and other faith topics.  Many families use this class as a way to prepare or introduce children to baptism. Any children in these grades are welcome to join, but please RSVP by January 7 so we can see if we have enough interest and have the necessary supplies. For more information, contact Ginny Richardson.

Staff Love Gift

We have a tradition at VBC of asking members to consider making a monetary gift to the church, designated for the staff Christmas gift fund. All contributions are shared among the office, Lost River, and ministerial staff. Designated gifts (marked ìChristmas Love Offeringî) can be placed in the offering plates on Sundays or placed in the box outside of the office. Special envelopes will be available in the Sunday bulletin and on the table in the Foyer. You may also make your love offering through the online giving link on our website. Thank you for showing your appreciation to our staff for their faithful service to our congregation!

Sunday School Classes for the Holidays

There will be no Youth and Childrenís Sunday School Classes on December 24 and 31. Weíll resume on January 7. Nursery and Childrenís Worship will be held both days during the worship service. Adult classes should check with the individual teachers to see if they are meeting.

Women's Fellowship

Due to the New Year holiday, Women's Fellowship will be meeting on Monday evening, January 8, continuing our study of women in the Bible. We meet at the Curtis home at 7:30pm for fellowship, study and prayer. Come join us!

Thank You!

Our annual Toy Box and Sock Tree donation to CHO, the Committee for Helping others, was again a success, thanks to the generous spirit of our VBC family. Contributors from VBC and VBCC, with assistance from the Shepherd's Center, donated 120 toys, 205 winter accessories, and $175 worth of gift cards. We thank our volunteers who help pack boxes and delivered them to CHO, including Claire Davis, Susan Hall, Beth and Robert Cooke, Debby and Rob Ruth, and Andrea Harvey. Special thanks to Claire Davis for coordinating the Toy Box and Joyce Salgado for coordinating the Sock Tree.

VBC Book Club

The VBC Book Club enjoyed the characters and writing style of Kent Harufís Plainsong so much that we are continuing with the sequel, Eventide, for our next selection.  We will meet at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, at the home of Sheila Hodges. All are welcome to come and join in the discussion. Contact Sheila Hodges (sheila@hodgesrouse.net) for more information.
