Thanks so much for reading about the activities at Calvary Community Church.  We appreciate your involvement in glorifying God, growing in Christ-likeness and going in the Spirit with grace.

Family members disagree.  They argue.  They fight.  They feud.  I witnessed this as a middle child and as a father of four.  I could share stories of fighting with my younger brother or of my boys fighting over something or other.  Sibling rivalry is nothing new; it is as old.... (Read More)
This Sunday at Calvary
If you are in the Ashmont neighborhood of Boston this Sunday, please consider yourself welcome to participate in the ministries of Calvary Community Church:
Before Worship...
Everyone is encouraged to be at church on Sunday at 9:30AM, for our Christian Education program.  This year's theme -- "(NOT) MY JOB" -- reminds us that the Bible lists a number of occupations, trades and jobs that can give us insight into how God equips His people and His church.  Each month we will look at a different 'job' that may be ours.  All are welcome to our weekly age-specific classes:
Children: Bible-in-Life class meets in the "Red Carpet
Room" on the church's lower level.
Teens:   Encounter lessons meet in the Conference Room.
Adults:  The Gospel Project for Adults meets in the Parlor.

At Worship...
All are welcome to participate in 75 minutes of prayer, praise and proclamation at Calvary at 11AM.    At that time, we will sing to the Lord, intercede for His people and share His word.  Pastor Mike will continue his series on the book of Acts with a message based on 5:12-42 called "The Apostles are Accosted".  How important is the furthering of the Gospel to you?  Would you evangelize if it meant enduring pain?

NEW Men's Study -- Disciples Path: The Journey Vol. 1
This study will offer a mix of group discussion, personal study, and practical application. It includes questions for reflection, prayer guidance, a session introduction, Scripture passages, commentary, a weekly activities checklist, a Bible reading plan, and devotionals.  There's a disciple-maker inside every Christian. Disciples Path: The Journey is a 4-quarter (13 sessions in each) intentional plan for discipleship that provides a purposeful process for maturing in Christ.  Both new and seasoned disciples will encounter key ideas and practices to help them grow in Christ and as disciple-makers.
Disciples Path: The Journey has four critical qualities:
The disciple's path is progressive.
The disciple's path is relational.
The disciple's path is disciplined.
The disciple's path is replicable.
This study will meet every other Tuesday at 7PM and the next meeting will be March 20th.

Lenten Study
All are invited to prepare for Easter by participating in a special month-long study on Wednesdays from 7-7:45pm during Lent.  We will be discussing Easter Realities.  This week we will look at "On the Cross".

Weekly Prayer Meeting and Bible Study
"Is anyone among you in trouble?  Let them pray.  Is anyone happy?  Let them sing songs of praise.  Is anyone among you sick?  Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.  If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.  Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (James 5:13-16)"
All are welcome to join in bringing the needs of the church and the community before that Lord at the weekly prayer meeting.  This time of intercession is held on Wednesday nights from 7:45-8:30pm.  If you have a prayer need, e-mail Pastor Mike or call the church offices.

Women’s Bible Study
It all began with the Word.  The opening chapters of Genesis teach us fundamental truths about God.  We watch Him bring light after darkness, order after chaos, and rest after toil – all through the power of His Word.  This is the basis for Jen Wilkin’s new study “God of Creation”.
Over 10 sessions of verse-by-verse study, dive into Genesis 1-11 by following three critical stages of understanding: comprehension, interpretation, and application.  Revisit familiar stories and historical figures, challenge your basic knowledge, and discover deeper meanings in the text.  As God reveals Himself through Scripture, we can only begin to understand ourselves when we first glimpse the character, attributes, and promises of our Creator.
The Women’s Bible Study will meet every Thursday morning from 10 to noon.
