With his military background and the work ethic that went with it, Mark Fogle was destined to expand his post-military business.
On Feb. 1, he took Crab Zone out of his home and into a storefront in Niceville, just a little east of Publix.
Office Manager Jenn McIlwain said this had been Fogle’s plan all along, which adds to the customer service.
“You can sit down and talk to one of us,” McIlwain said. “Because of the space we have, we’re split in two: with the office space on one side and store space on the other.”
Crab Zone serves as a logo apparel and specialty item store, creating shirts, hats and mementos. Its roots began with producing attire for the explosive ordnance disposal community.
The shop, however, serves all clients such as sports teams, restaurants, corporations and any organizations that want quality creations.
“Everything is done on site,” McIlwain said. “You don’t have to go on line. You can see it right here.”
Crab Zone is still a family owned business, and the shop is dedicated to working with the EOD Warrior Foundation.

STATE FARM: TIFFANY WOODHAM AGENCY
Upon completing her university education, Tiffany Woodham applied her degree in agriculture as a horse farm manager. But something else drew her, and in January she opened her own State Farm Insurance Agency in Crestview.
“I look at insurance that anybody at any age should look at and have a discussion about,” Woodham said. “I wish when I was 18 that was something someone talked to me about.”
Woodham and her staff deal specifically with State Farm insurance, a product and a company she believes in.
“We’re the No. 1 auto insurance in America,” she said of State Farm. “We offer all the 24-hour services that the other insurances offer, but we have someone local who you can sit down and talk to.
“As an agent, we’re going to get to know you,” she added.
Along with auto insurance, State Farm offers homeowner insurance, including policies for homeowners in hurricane-prone Florida.
“The whole reason to be here is to help people,” Woodham said.
