Toronto family using social media to get liver transplant for baby boy

A Toronto family is taking to social media to try and find a living liver donor for their five-month-old son.

Jacob Craig-Gregory has a liver disease called Biliary Atresia, which means that bile is not leaving his liver.

Jacob, who is being treated at the Hospital for Sick Children, is on the donor list but his parents are hoping to find a living donor.

The family is looking for donors between the ages of 18-40 with the blood type O-positive or O-negative to come forward. No one from the immediate family is match.

Last week, hundreds of potential donors come forward to help eight-month-old Delfina Budziak from Vaughan, who has the same disease.

A plea for a live donor has worked in the past, for twin girls Phuoc and Binh Wagner in Kingston and Ottawa Senators’ owner Eujene Melnik.
