A confirmed tornado touched down Saturday evening in the Cape Coral area of Lee County.
Strong rotating storms in the Gulf moved onshore on Fort Myers Beach to southwest Cape Coral at 6:45 p.m.
Lee County emergency management reported multiple trees and power lines down, a vehicle overturned as well as structural damage to several homes. The areas impacted were near Chiquita Boulevard South and Beach Parkway and Mohawk Parkway and Skyline Boulevard.
More damage assessment will likely take place on Sunday.
There were no injuries reported.
