UrbanPromise Thrift Store: The first 6 months! We're so excited about the progress we've made in only 6 months.
We've been able to hire five UrbanPromise teens! Our junior associates are gaining valuable work experience in a welcoming environment. They are learning about customer service and retail operations, while building positive relationships for references and a solid foundation for their resumes and/or college applications. Plus our first 2 youth hires have already successfully secured employment beyond the Thrift Store. Looking ahead, we will provide 1,000+ hours of paid working experience for youth this year and generate $25k from operating profits for UrbanPromise Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you
in the store soon! Matthew Speh
Director of Social Enterprise
The UrbanPromise Thrift Store is an amazing place to work. The people there are kind, inspiring, helpful and powerful. I was so sad to leave but I’m excited to go back in the summer. – Omar, UrbanPromise Academy Junior
Help us re-stock the store for the Spring Season! We're currently in greatest need of the following items: - Small furniture: chairs, kitchen/coffee tables, bookshelves, love-seats, lamps, area rugs, & patio sets.
- New & gently used clothing: women’s blouses & shirts are our best
sellers! Also looking for men’s jeans, polos & t-shirts in good condition. Even better if they still have tags.
- Accessories: jewelry, purses, watches & low-mileage shoes are always in demand.
- Household items: kitchenware, wall art, linens, lamps, working electric appliances, DVDs, & bikes.
Donations can be dropped off at the store during business hours (please call ahead), or contact us to schedule a donation pick-up. The EIN for Urban Promise Ministries Community Development Inc.: 02-0650756
We're on the search for great volunteers!
