  • HOU Center Fielder #10
It’s the third time in four games that the 24-year-old slugger has found himself situated on the bench. What’s troublesome, is that two of those games have been against right-handed pitching. Through his first 21 plate appearances with the Astros, Loperfido is hitting .316/.381/.316 with a pair of RBI, one stolen base and a 7/2 K/BB ratio. Jake Meyers is starting in his place once again in center field and batting ninth against Casey Mize and the Tigers on Friday night.
  • CHC Left Fielder #27
While the 29-year-old slugger was activated from the injured list, he is not in the Cubs’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Pirates as that had been a scheduled day of rest for him after appearing in two straight minor league rehab games. He’ll return to the Cubs’ lineup on Saturday. Suzuki has been sidelined since mid-April due to a right oblique strain. Prior to being shelved, he was hitting .305/.368/.525 with three homers and 13 RBI through his first 15 games on the season.
  • CHC Shortstop #7
Swanson sat out of Wednesday’s contest due to soreness in his knee, and now he’ll be out for at least an additional week while recovering. Fortunately, the Cubs also got good news on the injury front on Friday with Seiya Suzuki being activated from the injured list in a corresponding move. Expect Nico Hoerner to slide over and cover shortstop while Swanson is shelved, leaving Miles Mastrobuoni to see increased action at second base.
  • HOU Shortstop #16
Kessinger used the minimum 10 days on the injured list to heal his right shoulder and he’ll be active for Houston’s series opener against the Tigers. The 26-year-old has played in just seven games this season and has yet to record a hit in his 10 plate appearances.
  • NYY Relief Pitcher #57
Burdi will be active for Friday’s series opener against the Rays after spending the last month on the injured list. The 31-year-old reliever impressed during spring training and hasn’t allowed an earned run in his five appearances for New York this season. He’ll be a welcomed addition to the Yankees’ bullpen that has the best relief ERA (2.25) in the majors.
  • KC Center Fielder #44
Blanco’s homer was his first, but his steals were his ninth and 10th in just 34 plate appearances this season. At this point, it certainly seems like he deserves a shot over the remains of Hunter Renfroe, and if he gets it, he’ll likely be an impact player in mixed leagues, thanks to his SB ability. He’s 38-for-44 stealing bases in 99 games as a major leaguer.
  • MIL Right Fielder #22
Yelich shook off Wednesday’s tough 0-for-5 performance in his return from the injured list against the Royals with a stellar three-hit performance in his return to American Family Field. The 32-year-old corner outfielder padded Milwaukee’s lead with a run-scoring triple in the fifth inning as part of a three-hit effort that raised his full-season batting average to a sublime .333 (16-for-48) mark through 13 games. If he can avoid the back issues that have plagued him the last few years, he’ll remain an impact contributor for fantasy managers.
  • NYY Right Fielder #99
Judge’s tape-measure shot to left-center field off Astros relief ace Ryan Pressly slashed New York’s deficit to just a single run in the eighth inning. The 32-year-old former AL MVP Award winner has started to heat up at the dish with three big flies in his last four contests. It’s going to take a while for his surface stats to fully recover from his frosty start, but he’s up to .236/.362/.493 with 19 runs scored, nine homers, 25 RBI and two steals through 175 plate appearances.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #71
Hader came on to record the final out of the eighth inning before heading back out to spin a scoreless ninth inning to collect his fourth save of the season. The 30-year-old lefty has converted four of five save chances in his Astros debut so far to go along with a bloated 5.63 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 25/7 K/BB ratio across 16 innings (16 appearances). There’s zero reason for concern here moving forward as he continues to miss bats at an elite rate.
  • OAK Relief Pitcher #19
Rosenthal adds that a team source indicates no team has come close to meeting Oakland’s astronomical asking price. The 25-year-old starter-turned-closer has been phenomenal this season, with a microscopic 1.10 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 33/4 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings (13 appearances). It’s entirely possible that no team will come close to coughing up enough prospect capital to make a deal happen, but Miller figures to be at the epicenter of rumors leading up to the trade deadline later this summer.
