STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Joseph Ferrara, principal of BFC Partners and developer of Empire Outlets, will join 106.7 Lite FM on Friday as a guest for the station's holiday radiothon.

From 7:30 to 8 a.m., Ferrara will help raise money to support the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and its humanitarian work for millions of children across the world. As the radiothon's representative for Staten Island, Ferrara will join other business leaders and celebrities from across the city.

Ferrara will discuss his commitment to supporting US Fund For UNICEF and its mission, as well as how Empire Outlets -- the city's first outlet center being built on the St. George waterfront -- will positively impact families.

"The Empire Outlets team is proud to represent Staten Island as we put children first and support US Fund For UNICEF's incredible mission to help millions of kids across the globe," said Ferrara.

"The spirit of the holidays should inspire all New Yorkers to give back to worthy causes like this as we work together to build a better city and a better world."

Sen. Diane Savino (D-Staten Island/Brooklyn) has worked to support children and families across the borough. (Staten Island Advance/Jan Somma-Hammel).

SEN. SAVINO WILL BE A GUEST

Ferrara's special guest for the segment will be state Sen. Diane Savino (D-Staten Island/Brooklyn), who has worked to support children and families in the local community and across the borough.

"I'm proud to partner with BFC Partners in support of UNICEF this holiday season," said Savino. "We both share a similar mission: making New York City and New York state a better place. I hope, with our work, we can raise enough awareness to gain more partners so that everyone can have a joyful holiday season."

Those who wish to donate can text "HOPE" to 864233 between 6 and 10 a.m. Friday to give $25 or more to UNICEF. Callers can also dial #250 on their cell phone and say "UNICEF" when prompted.

Empire Outlets, located adjacent to the St. George Ferry Terminal, will feature more than 100 designer retailers, a boutique hotel with a rooftop venue and a 1,250-space parking garage. It also will include a 40,000-square-foot food and beverage deck, which will provide unique views of Manhattan.

Empire Outlets is expected to open in the fall of 2018.
