From the Desk of Bob Wilson

Michigan Trails is the statewide voice for all non-motorized users in the state,  helping people build, connect and promote trails for a healthier and prosperous Michigan. We are an organization consisting of citizens, trails groups and affiliate associations representing thousands of avid trail users all over this state who value the trails of Michigan.

Michigan Trails has been gathering hundreds of "trail success stories" and sharing them with policy makers in Lansing in order to help portray the incredible impacts that trails have had in building strong communities throughout our state. Trails have become America's new front porch. It is my hope that through these stories from communities all over Michigan, policy makers will have a better understanding of the measurable impact that trails have in Michigan.

Enjoy!
Quiet Water Symposium

Join us at the Quiet Water Symposium on March 3, 2018, where we will be on site to chat about all things trails related. Last year, over 2,500 people participated in the Quiet Water Symposium. Over 150 exhibitors took part representing outdoor clubs, watershed groups, outfitters, boat builders, trails supporters, fishing groups, cycling organizations, hiking clubs and nature centers.

Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the event. Show admission for adults is $10; students (with ID), $5; and children under 12 are free.

The Quiet Water Symposium is brought to you by volunteers from the Quiet Water Society, a nonprofit Lansing-based organization. The society uses proceeds from the event to support a grant program that helps to fund environmental and conservation efforts in the Great Lakes area.

Fat Tire Mountain Biking in Marquette
Marquette has embraced fat tire mountain biking with open arms by grooming over 60 miles of trails to ride. Currently, locals are actively grooming trails across Marquette and conditions are said to be optimal as Marquette has had nearly 150 inches of snowfall this season. The Range Area Mountain Bike Association hosts a weekly ride and the 906 Adventure Team organizes the 906 Polar Roll, which are great events to connect with other cyclists and stay fit throughout the winter

Whether you’re looking to go for a fun rip in the snow or chase a buckle across the challenging 35-Mile course, put the 906 Polar Roll on your winter race schedule. Recipient of the Governor’s Fitness Award for Outstanding Event last year, the 906 Polar Roll will take place on February 17, 2018.

Checkout the following events for winter trail riding:
While updates are being made to the 906 Adventure Team website, email 906 Adventure Team President Todd Poquette with any questions.
