Classical Music for the People
Dear friends and neighbors,
We are very excited to kick off our new Tuesday series tonight at the Old Bus Tavern on Mission Street, off the west slope of Bernal.
Those of you who've been with us for a while might remember the old days when we played every Wednesday at SoCha Cafe.
It feels great to be back in that neighborhood after so many years!
Old Bus Tavern offers a delicious food menu, full cocktail bar, and craft beers brewed in house!
Our good friend Joe Lewis recently took over the booking there and has been bringing some of our favorite neighborhood bands and musicians to perform - and we are honored to have been given a weekly slot to fill out our early week activities!
We will be booking some of our best Classical Revolution groups to perform - as always, each week will feature different musicians.
Please let me know if you are interested in performing.
The venue provides pretty decent compensation for the musicians, but as always we depend on you, the audience to donate to help us bring in the area's top musicians to perform at our events.
Also mark your calendars for a special event on Sunday March 25th at Monument in SOMA. We will be teaming up with pianist Serene Han to perform Rachmaminoff's monumental 2nd piano concerto!
Also on the program will be assorted opera arias sung by Gustavo Hernandez Garcia, Jessica Sweet, and Katherine Kinsey.
Info and details will be published soon!
I personally have some exciting performances coming up - In Chicago (string quartet version of Abbey Road), Florida (Boca Festival of the Arts, Music City Hit-Makers, and CR St Pete), Nashville (Intersection and CR Nashville debut - tba), and then 5 concerts with the legendary rock band Foreigner in Iowa, North Dakota, and Minnesota!
