Cleveland Clinic doc, former Libertarian Party presidential hopeful Marc Feldman remembered

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- News of the death of Cleveland Clinic doctor Marc A. Feldman has gone viral.

Feldman, 56, of Beachwood was found dead Wednesday night at the America's Best Value Inn in Brook Park. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has not released an official cause of death.

Feldman was the section head of anesthesia for the Cole Eye Institute and director of the Cole Eye Institute Operating Rooms at the Cleveland Clinic, according to the clinic's website.

He was known across the nation after he lost the nomination to represent the Libertarian Party in the presidential election to New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson in May.

News of his death was trending on Facebook Friday morning, and people across the country, including Johnson supporters, posted condolences on social media.

Johnson Tweeted: "Saddened to hear of the passing of Liberty Champion Marc Feldman. Wonderful sense of humor and a good guy."

Connecticut for Gary Johnson 2016 Tweeted: "We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of 'that Libertarian,' Marc Allan Feldman. He was an inspiration to so many. This is a terrible loss."

Many supporters reposted video of Feldman's fiery 60-second conclusion at the Libertarian Party Presidential Debate in Orlando in May.

"I'm that be what you want to be Libertarian," Feldman said. "That no apologist anarchist Libertarian... That no pain, no gain Libertarian. ... I'm that Libertarian."
