KOLO 8 is reporting, Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen has decided not to run for re-election. Allen has two years left on his term. The sheriff suggests in a letter to employees, he wants to spend more time with his family, and says his wife doesn’t want him working seven days a week anymore. He also says he wants to focus on his job as sheriff for the two years, without the distraction of a re-election campaign.  Allen is a former Public Information Officer for the Nevada Highway patrol, and is a longtime member of the Nevada Air National Guard. Allen called the decision to not run again “difficult.”
