The broadcast industry lost a legend on Saturday as longtime WBAL Radio talk show host Allan Prell passed away. He was 79.

Prell, who had undergone surgery several months ago, was still active on Facebook -- most recently during the recent presidential election.

A two-time winner of the Edward R. Murrow award, Prell made his mark in radio.

Prell's voice hit the airwaves on three stations that took home AP awards, one being WBAL where he worked from 1982 to the early 2000s.

During his time with WBAL, Prell developed several alter-ego characters like Ali-Elf around this time of year. He also did one show live on the Baltimore beltway.

Prell goes to the car wash.

And finally, we give you, THE WORLD OF ALLAN PRELL.
