Jimmy Nelson owns the “fathers” on Father’s Day

Brewers starter Jimmy Nelson became just the second player in the Craig Counsell era to pitch a complete game.

Nelson shut down the Padres on Father’s Day. (That’s relevant because “padre” translates to “father,” for those of you scoring at home.)

In 118 pitches, Nelson held the Padres to just one run, while striking out 10 and giving up just six hits. Nelson was a beast, and the Brewers’ bullpen got some much-needed rest. (Is it EVER a bad thing when the Brewers can avoid going to the bullpen?)

This afternoon on SportsLine, Jerry Augustine (FOX Sports Wisconsin) joins the guys to talk about Nelson’s big day, and the first-place Brewers.
