India & China, the hottest places in the world for Home Health Care

Interestingly, the growth in the numbers of economy, population, and the age of population will be simultaneous. All these 3 key factors will be responsible to create demand for home health care services; although, the high cost of hospital treatment will also play a major role.

Total population of India, China, and the world is 1.32, 1.38, and 7.6 billion respectively. Amazingly, both the countries shelter more than one third of world population. Almost 70% population of both India and China is aged between 0-45 years. Currently, both have the highest number and the highest ratio of young population in the world. According to the United Nations Population Division-2011, the Indian 60+ population is expected to grow from 8% of the population in 2010 to 19% by 2050. In more tangible terms, India is expected to have more than 300 million people over the age of 60 by 2050, the size of the entire U.S. population in 2010! India and China are already recognized as the diabetes capitals of the world. As per International Diabetes Federation, India will have 142 million and China will have 109 million diabetic populations approximately, till 2035. As per WHO, diabetes is the major cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks, stroke, and lower limb amputation, in the world.
