The Urunga Women's Bowling Club wrapped up a most successful 2017 on December 7 with a friendly game of bowls followed by a delicious cold Christmas buffet catered for by East Garden Restaurant. The Christmas spirit was very much in evidence boosted by foot tapping entertainment from Vanessa Nugent and her Hungry Head Ukulele group. Many thanks go to Vice-Presidents Pat Herrmann and Margaret Baldwin who put in countless hours to ensure the enjoyment and success of the day and also to their helpers on the day the inimitable Noela McCabe and Jean Dew, Margot Brown and Colleen Wood.

Bowls will resume in 2018 on Tuesday January 9 but in the meantime our members can come along to the Club for roll-ups. Also check the men's notice board for Tuesday twilight bowls over the holiday season. Entries close for the first major of the year, the club pairs, on Thursday January 11 and matches will be held on the ensuing Tuesdays and Thursdays until finalised. It is a busy start to the year with Pennants starting on February 6.
The women bowlers from Urunga send seasons greetings to the sporting clubs in the area and wish them success in 2018.
