Head of Vanuatu Anglican Church dies

The head of Vanuatu's Anglican Church, Bishop James Ligo, has died in Luganville.

RNZI reports Bishop Ligo's body was flown to the capital, Port Vila where the Prime Minister, his Cabinet and members of the diplomatic corps paid their last respects before he was laid to rest in Teouma Valley, rural Efate.

The cause of death is not yet known.

Bishop Ligo was in Luganville for a tour of Penama Province.
