Golden Globes 2018: Celebrities Wear More Than $20 Million In Watches and Jewelry

Last night's 75th annual Golden Globe Awards not only showcased some of the best actors and actresses in 2017 film and American television, it also showcased more than 20 million dollars worth of watches and jewelry -- as worn by some of Hollywood's finest. In fact, diamond jewelry was the statement-maker for most of the women, especially since the majority donned black dresses in a statement of solidarity.

Broadcast live last night from the Beverly Hilton, The ceremony was hosted by talk-show entertainer Seth Meyers, and The Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award went to Oprah Winfrey, who made a powerful speech in a call for free press and for women to stand together during these times. Here we take a look at just some of the jewelry and watches, including Bulgari, Panerai, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Harry Winston and more,  worn by the stars.

$10 Million In Jewels By Harry Winston

Easily one of the most-worn brands on the Red Carpet was Harry Winston, with Kate Hudson, Salma Hayek (who wore more than $5 million in Harry Winston diamonds hersefl), Claire Foy, Emilia Clarke, Viola Davis, Helen Mirren and Lily James, among others, wearing Harry Winston diamonds. In fact, more than $10 million in Harry Winston jewels graced the Golden Globes.

Salma Hayek, also a presenter, wore more than $5 million in Harry Winston diamonds. Her ensemble consisted of an 81.95-carat Yellow Diamond Winston Cluster Diamond Necklace set in platinum and 18-karat yellow gold,  as well as 11.92-carat yellow diamond  drop earrings with diamond cluster accents, and an emerald-cut 11.52-carat diamond ring.

Presenter Kate Hudson wore vintage Harry Winston Cluster Diamond earrings, ca. 1969, set in platinum and weighing more than 23 carats. She also wore a  Harry Winston Secret Wonder sapphire and aquamarine pendant weighing more than 30 carats and a radiant-cut yellow diamond ring set with 20.80 carats of diamonds and set in platinum and yellow gold.

Actress Helen Mirren, nominated for Best Performance by a leading actress in a Comedy or Musical, wore a near 50-carat Winston Cluster Diamond Wreath necklace, and 20 more carats in rings and earrings. Indeed, the Harry Winston list goes on and on.

Presenter Viola Davis wore 120 carats, including a Secret Combination Diamond necklace weighing more than 111 carats. Nominee Claire Foy wore more than 21 carats of Harry Winston diamonds in a ring, earrings and rings; presenter Emilia Clarke wore 29 carats of diamonds, including a V-shaped near 19-carat diamond necklace.

Chopard at the Golden Globes  2018

Chopard also had an impressive presence with its watches and jewelry. This brand is no newcomer to the Red Carpet, and so more than half a dozen stars donned Chopard.  French actress Isabelle Huppert wore 35 carats of  earrings set with pear-shaped emeralds, as well as another 30 carats in rings from the brand's High Jewelry Collection.  Similarly, Katherine Langford,  nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series – Drama for her role in 13 Reasons Why, wore Chopard's "Fairmined" gold cuff earrings with 19.6 carats of diamonds, as well as a 6-carat diamond ring from the brands L'Heure Du Diamond collection, and a  High Jewelry Collection ring set with 4 carats of diamonds, tsavorites, red and  pink spinels and blue sapphires.

With Chopard, as it is with Harry Winston, the list goes on. American actress Sadie Sink nominated for her role in Stranger Things, wore a little color with 17-carat gemstone earrings consisting of rubellites, pink rubellites and diamonds from the Temptation Collection, a 9-carat ruby and diamond bracelet from the Red Carpet Collection, and three different Chopard rings weighing nearly 20 carats in diamonds and gemstones.

Sally Hawkins wore 27 carats of diamonds in the for of Chopard earrings and a ring, and American singer Mary J. Blige wore more than 80 carats of diamonds in the form of earrings, a bracelet, and a couple of High Jewelry Collection rings. In terms of watches, American actor Sterling K. Brown, who won for his Best Performance by an Actor in a TV Series-Drama, This is Us, wore Chopard's L.U.C 1837 Classic watch, and actor/producer Christian Slator wore the L.U.C XPS watch.

Bulgari at the Golden Globes 2018

Certain stars also donned vintage Bulgari jewels and a few seductive Bulgari watches for the event. Actresses Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Biel, Laura Dern and Alison Brie all wore diamonds and gemstones by Bulgari. In fact, Reese Witherspoon wore a 1955 bracelet and a 1938 pair of diamond and platinum earrings. Similarly, both of the bracelets and earrings that Biel wore were also circa 1930’s and 1950’s.

Laura Dern also wore a rose gold and diamond black ceramic Serpenti coil watch from Bulgari. The coil bracelet – culminating in the dial head -- is crafted of high-tech ceramic, 5 N rose gold and diamonds. It retails for $32,000. Alison Brie also wore a Serpenti watch by Bulgari, but hers is a Serpenti Secret High Jewelry watch with a double spiral coil bracelet made of white gold and set with brilliant-cut diamonds. The head of the serpent – adorned with diamonds and two black onyx yes -- lifts to reveal the watch dial. Alexander Skarsgaard, Best Actor Nominee, also wore a Bulgari watch: the Octo 38mm, retailing for $46,500.

Jaeger-LeCoultre

In terms of watches, Jaeger-LeCoultre's Reverso Classic Medium Duoface Small Second watch was worn by   Timothée Chalamet, who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for his role in  Call Me By Your Name.   The reversible square Jaeger-LeCoultre watch he wore is an $8,300 steel watch powered by a mechanical movement and offering two time zones.

Panerai

Not a brand typically seen on the Red Carpet, a $10,500 Panerai was on the wrist of Justin Hartley. The 40-year-old American actor (a star in the NBC drama This is Us) wore the 45mm Panerai PAM674  Luminor DUE with a black dial and automatic caliber. This watch houses the P. 4000 movement, the thinnest automatic ever developed for Panerai.  It features a decentralized micro-rotor that rotates in both directions, giving energy to two spring barrels for three days of power reserve.

Tiffany & Co. also had a presence with both watches and jewelry. The brand announced that it is committed to helping drive change and that it would  make a donation to TIME’S UP on behalf of everyone wearing the brand at the 75th Golden Globe Awards.   Among those donning Tiffany & Co. jewelry were presenter Gal Gadot (chandelier diamond earrings and a diamond bracelet), nominee Greta Gerwig (diamond ring and earrings), nominee Margot Robbie for her role in I, Tonya (earrings and ring with pearls) and Natlie Portman (earrings, ring), among others. Sarah Paulson, O.T. Fagbenle and Liev Schreiber wore Tiffany & Co. watches, with Paulson and Schreiber both wearing a Tiffany & Co. CT60 watch, Fagbenle wearing a Tiffany Square watch.

Nominated for her role in Molly's Game, Jessica Chastain wore Piaget Limelight Rose Passion earrings set with 288 diamonds weighing nearly 21 carats, and the stunning Piaget Limelight Gala 18-karat white gold and diamond watch on the red carpet.

IWC

Actors Zak Efron and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau wore IWC watches. Efron wore the 40mm Ingenieur automatic in rose gold that retails for $13,600, and Coster-Waldau wore the $12,700 IWC Portugieser Automatic.

Montblanc had both jewelry and watches at the 75th annual event, as well, with stars such as Hugh Jackman, Denzel Washington, William H. Macy, Nick Jonas, Armie Hammer, Kit Harrington, Dwayne Johnson and at least another half a dozen wearing Montblanc watches and jewelry.

Nominee Armie Hammer wore the Montblanc 4810 Dual Time watch (and cufflinks), Hugh Jackman wore the Heritage Spirit Pulsograph watch (and Montblanc cufflinks), William H. Macy wore the Montblanc Tradition Date Automatic watch, Kit Harrington wore the Heritage Spirit Moonphase, Dwayne Johnson donned the 4810 ExoTourbillon slim timepiece, and Bill Pullman selected a Heritage Spirit Perpetual Calendar watch. Other Jewels

Of course there were a host of other brands worn by the stars, including Fred Leighton, Forevermark and Messika. For instance, Gillian Anderson wore Messika Madeleine long diamond earrings​ with her all black ensemble​, and stars such as Elisabeth Moss, Angelina Jolie and Allison Williams all donned Forevermark.
