1. Sarasota Seafood & Music Festival

Local food and local music paired with adult beverages (and no cover charge) has made the Seafood & Music Festival series a hit across the region (full story). This year's events kick off with the downtown Sarasota fest being held on Gulfstream between Cocoanut Avenue and McAnsh Square. 2. Manatee County Fair

The 102nd Manatee County Fair (full story) features fun for all ages including everything from pig races to country music concerts, plus all your favorite midway action and decadent fair food. 3. Sarasota Native American Indian Festival

Celebrate Indigenous American culture at the 11th annual Sarasota Native American Indian Festival with handmade arts and crafts, paintings, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, beadwork and leatherwork. There will also be traditional dancing, drumming, storytelling and authentic food. This festival continues to serve as a tribute to the life of Rex A. 4. JDub's Food Truck Rally

Sip on JDub's award-winning brews while noshing on eats from Saucy Sam's Mobile Kitchen, Funky Fusion, Smokin Momma Lora's BBQ Mobile, Made Restaurant, BulGoGi Sarasota, Jollimax, Fillaburger, Smokin Bowls, The Amish Baking Company or Mother Truckin Good. 5. The Gatsby Gala at Venice Institute for Performing Arts

Party like it's the Roaring Twenties with a red-carpet viewing of "The Great Gatsby" starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan.
