EDIBLE AND ORNAMENTAL
Oriental Borage is a superb ground-cover plant, particularly useful in dense shade. It's large leaves are fantastic as green manure and it has edible flowers which are also great for bees.  We knew that Oriental Borage it was eaten in Turkey but had been struggling to find out how.  This link gives detailed information.  And, of course, Oriental Borage is readily available from the Red Shed Nursery!

TESTIMONIALS FROM INTRODUCTION TO PERMACULTURE, FEBRUARY 2018

Even on the sleepy tail end of winter.  Garden Cottage is a treasure trove of delights, and the owners’ more so!  So grateful! Blessings!

Inspiring to see how well things can work- how much food can be produced year round.  Wonderful to meet people working creatively and intelligently to improve the present and create the future.

Made a great start to understanding the philosophy of permaculture and its application in the wider world as well as personal life.  Lovely food and care.  Made us comfortable on a chill February day.

January Hush

I lie cozy with the earth

One ear to the foundations

The hum of everything stirring

rebirthing

Underneath

the pregnant hush

dreams up spring

Raindrops

indivisible

cradled by a leaf

suspended

mid-leap

towards a new beginning
