Only four CIAA selections out of a team of 108

Leesburg, VA – Johnson C. Smith University senior defensive end Jovontay Williams (Stone Mountain, GA) has been chosen for the 2014 Beyond Sports Network (BSN) Preseason Division II All-America Team. Williams received Third Team honors. The 2014 Preseason All-America Football Team was chosen based on returning All-Americans from the 2013 BSN All-America Football Team, highest vote recipients in the 2013 BSN All American Voting, statistics, and game evaluations.

Williams was named to the 2013 All-CIAA First Team, as well as earning HBCU Gameday and Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN) All-American honors in his first season at JCSU. Williams has accumulated 31 tackles (20 solo), 14.5 tackles for a loss of 103 yards, 12.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. He ranks third in the nation (Division II) for Pass Sacks per Game (1.1), second in the CIAA for Total Sacks (12.5), and tied for second in the CIAA for Forced Fumbles.

The complete 2014 BSN Preseason DII All-America Team was divided into three teams. There are 34 selections on the First Team, 34 selections on the Second Team, and 40 selections on the Third Team.

In addition to Williams, Kyle Jaski of The Lincoln University (First Team), Khari Lee of Bowie State University (Second Team), and Michael Johnson of Fayetteville State University (Second Team) represented the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) as honorees.

The 2013 BSN All American team was selected based on votes by college sports information directors and college coaches. Every school was given the opportunity to have two votes.
