Healthy Snack Recipes for Kids - strawberry mice recipe Familyfun.com

I am the mom of a seriously picky eater. Of course, that is totally his dad’s fault and has absolutely nothing to do with me. Okay, I might be a little picky too… plus I like Skittles and Cheetos. A lot.

Finding healthy snacks that my son (and I) will enjoy can be difficult. Here are some recipes that make healthy eating look like it might be fun!

Healthy Snack Recipes for Kids - Frozen Fruit Roll Ups by Tidymom.com

These Frozen Fruit and Yogurt Rollups from TidyMom look like something I’d eat every day!! You can make a bunch of them in advance, which I love AND they’re frozen–perfect for the upcoming warm weather.

Healthy Snack Recipes for Kids - fruit roll up recipe

Speaking of Fruit Roll-Ups…who knew it was so easy to make your own? To make these, Shaina from Food for My Family starts off by making her own applesauce, which not only looks surprisingly easy but is a handy recipe all by itself.

Healthy Snack Recipes for Kids - safari dip by BHG.com

When I was a kid, stuffed celery was one of my favorite snacks, and I love the addition of animal crackers in this recipe from BHG.com. That’s not just plain peanut butter, it’s smooth-as-silk peanut butter and honey dip. Yum!

Healthy Snack Recipes for Kids - Rainbow Fruit Tray from Tangled and True

This fruit rainbow from Tangled and True could be an awesome alternative to chips and dip at your child’s next birthday party. I love fun and easy ideas like this, and the fact that the fruit can be swapped out to fit your kid’s taste makes it even better.

Strawberry Mice - Healthy Kid Snack

Living in rural Arkansas, mice are my mortal enemy. But if they all looked like this, we might be BFF’s! Strawberries are my son’s favorite fruit, and these look just too darn easy not to make for him.  You can find this and some other fun and healthy snack ideas on FamilyFun.com.

I’m really excited to try some of these snacks out on my son. Right now his favorite healthy snack is banana slices with granola sprinkled on top. I’d love to hear what fun snacks your family is loving.

  1. I’m going to have to use that strawberry mouse idea to decorate a cheese platter. So cute. Not just for children! ;(

  2. Oh, my gosh. My kids snack habits are not good, and it’s totally my fault. I know they would eat any one of these if I made them. Thanks so much for the healthy inspiration!

  3. I love seeing you over here Kristan!! Great snack ideas!!…..I should have known fruit roll ups would be involved! haha

  4. I make lowfat quesadillas for my boys and I.
I use Joseph’s Flax, oat bran & whole wheat flour tortillas (sound gross but are ridiculously good ) Sargento Shredded Lowfat Cheddar Cheese , Salsa and reduced fat sour cream. I just heat up a pan (no need for oil or spray) put the tortilla with the cheese, let it melt take it off the heat add salsa & sour cream. Fold and eat. :O)
