An Inside Look at Physical Therapy Central, Winner of the ADVANCE Magazine “Practice of the Year” Award

Every year ADVANCE magazine names one clinic the physical therapy “Practice of the Year.” The clinic receiving this honor in 2010 was Physical Therapy Central (PTC).  Founder, Bridgit Finley, PT, DPT, OCS recently discussed the coveted award with PT Talker and shares some of the secrets to their success in this week’s podcast.

One of the areas that set PTC apart from other “Practice of the Year” submissions was their customer service delivery. Dr. Finley sees physical therapy as a customer service business and strives to build lasting relationships with each customer.  She believes patients are never discharged. They only graduate from physical therapy. To ensure customers come back to PTC when the need arises, they stay in touch with all customers throughout the year.

Dr. Finley also credits their 50-50 ownership and commitment to education for much of their success.  Each physical therapy clinic director owns a 50-percent share of the business. Every PTC location has physical therapists with a Masters or Doctorate degree in physical therapy and at least one Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist. All new hires undergo a one-year mentorship program.

Listen now to learn what helped Dr. Finley turn an average physical therapy clinic into an award-winner.

Bridgit has been my professional mentor and colleague for the last 4 years. A true leader and visionary. She keeps our company on the forefront of physical therapy in Oklahoma and nationwide. This award is well deserved for her continual effort to live her dream, and I’m glad she has allowed me to be a small part of it.

First of all my heartiest best wishes to PTC for being a Winner! Today, there is a growing need for physical therapists everywhere around the world. Physical therapy is becoming a more popular means of treatment. I believe that “Admiration” encourages a “Feel of Enthusiasm to Work”.
