Artwork: 4.5 out of 5
Oh Skullkickers, why are you so much fun to look at? Is it your wonderful art? Your solid character designs? The consistency of excellence on every page? The bright colors that just make the visuals sing? The subtle hidden jokes in the artwork itself? Oh we may never know, but as long as you contain each of those items I guess my eyes with tear up with joy, as issue #5 was another solid effort. Oh and when the actual “Skull Kicking” takes place in this issue, I dropped a deuce in my pants. That was breathtaking comic art!

Story: 4.5 out of 5
Well we come to the end of the first story arc and I have to say I am kind of sad. The action was so strong and at ran at such a great pace, I don’t want it to go away. Not saying that it will mind you. Again I was treated to a story with great pacing, intense action and jokes that made me laugh. I really love the way that Zubkavich is selling me on this book month after month with just great storytelling.

Dying Breath: 4.5 out of 5
Lets start off the recap with a riddle shall we? What has 5 individual parts, looks better than any modern cartoon and has as many jokes as a half hour stand up special? SKULLKICKERS! Issue #5 just solidifies why this series and this first arc should have been in your reading pile. If they aren’t don’t sweat it just yet you can get the trade. This book started off as just a fun read and quickly jumped to the top of my reading pile on a monthly basis. Just plain and simple I like it, I love it and I want some more … SKULLKICKERS!
